DIPLOMA IN QUANTITY SURVEYING

The course is planned to be commenced from January 2021. The Campus initiates two programs in QS NVQ 4 (QS certificate courses) and NVQ 5 and 6 (QS Diploma course). The course extents NVQ 4 is one year and method of teaching will be online and in-house. The GCE (O/L) or NVQ 3 in relevant field are considered as entrance qualifications for the course. The course will be conducted according to the TVEC regulations. At the end, student will be offered Assistant Quantity Surveying Certificate from REC Campus and from TVEC NVQ level 4 certificate in QS.

NVQ 5 & 6 is Diploma and Higher National Diploma level program. The course duration is three years. One year theoretical and after 6 months industrial training and next year theoretical with another six months industrial training. Altogether 02 years theory and one year practical. Entry qualification will be GCE (A/L) three passes in one sitting in Mathematics, Biology and Engineering Technology or NVQ 4 in relevant field.

At end of first the 1 ½ years if the student complete all the exams and fulfill requirements for industrial training he will be offered NVQ 5 level (National Diploma) and after completion another 1 ½ years NVQ 6 level (Higher National Diploma)certificate will be offered.

The syllabus is planned to follow under the supervision of TVEC and exams 100% according to TVEC syllabus. Industrial training will be handled by National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA)and according to their regulations. They will handle industrial training. During the course, the exams will be handled by TVEC regulations. The REC campus promises students to make all the effort to complete the course during the three years period as it is a common issue which extending course duration unnecessarily.

The main method of conducting academic session is online but there will in house lectures, guest lecturers too. For Practical sessions students have to travel the places which are arranged by the campus. All the lecturers will be highly qualified Academic and academically renowned prestigious Professionals from the industry.

There will be fee system during Academic years and Industrial training periods. Those who are having financial difficulties, the REC campus already have made arrangements with Public and Private Banks to assist the students. This can be discussed and settled with REC staff during the registration.

The Campus provides the maximum effort to find the job for the students, within local industry as well as in overseas. If somebody wants to continue higher education in a foreign University or to migrate, Campus will be in a position to assist.
