Course Overview

This course has been designed to provide wide range of specialized technical or scholastic knowledge and skills to provide all-round knowledge of Marine Engineering Technology. It comprises with industrial engineering knowledge with multitasking skills to fulfil the needs in supervisory level as well as the operational level professionals for mainly shore based marine engineering industry.

On board sea practical are conducted in our vessels where it necessary. In addition to the key subject areas, students are equipped with communication and problem-solving skills, teamwork and perseverance and leadership qualities. Carrier opportunities available for the diploma holders are, marine engineering and ship repairing services field, offshore engineering and services field, industrial power plants, industrial factories, boat building and maintenance field etc. as a supervisory level /operational level professional of local and overseas.

COURSE MODULE:

SEMESTER 1

Communicative English, Technical Mathematics, Introduction to Physics, Mechanics of Machines, Workshop Technology, Marine Engineering Technology, Workplace Information Management and Workplace Communication Management

SEMESTER 2

Electrical Technology, Marine Engineering Technology (general), Thermodynamics, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Hydraulic and Pneumatic, Power Transmission, Propulsion and Steering, Ship Construction, Occupational Health and Safety Practices
