Overview
This course covers the mandatory requirements for the issue of a Certificate of Proficiency in Medical Care, specified in Regulation VI/4, Para 2 & 3, Section A-VI/4, Para 4-6, Table A-VI/4-2 of the STCW 1978 as amended.
On successful completion of this course, the participants will acquire the necessary knowledge, understanding and proficiency to attend to any medical emergency on board and be able to provide medical care to the sick and injured while they remain on-board and participate in coordinated schemes for medical assistance to ships.
Intake Limitations
Maximum 12 students per course.
Academic Faculty
Our training will be delivered by properly qualified lecturers and instructors with qualifications as specified in MSN 03/2022 issued by the Director General of Merchant Shipping, Merchant Shipping Secretariat, Sri Lanka.
Entry Requirements
This course is open to all seafarers who hold the certificate of proficiency in elementary First Aid & certificate of proficiency in Medical First Aid. All trainees must be certified by a doctor to be in good health and have valid medical certificate issued in accordance with provisions of STCW Reg.I/9 and section A-I/9.
