Course Overview

This This course is designed as a skill upgrading program for skippers work in fishing boats upon the request of Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. Therefore, this course is a mandatory requirement for the skipper license issued by the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

The course provides overall knowledge and skills related to work as Fishing Vessel Skipper.

COURSE MODULE:

• Seamanship and Navigation
• Rule of the Road, International Law for the Fishing Operation, Law and regulation for high sea Fisheries, Fish post-harvest and quality management
• Lifesaving at sea, Marine metrology, pollution, prevention, and conservation.
• Emergency awareness at sea, international code of signal and communication
• Firefighting, first aid, diving, inboard engine technology, on- board training
