Machinist (NVQ 3)

This course is designed for those who wish to obtain a National Certificate at NVQ level-04, to work as a Machinist. This course provides systematic and organized training to acquire the skills and knowledge required for planning and carrying out the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise specifications.

This course will be carried out under the accreditation of the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) and conducted in line with the National Competency Standards (NCS).

After completing the course, you will be able to find a job as a Machinist in privet and public sector.

COURSE MODULE:

Basic Calculations, Maintenance of Tools and Servicing, Mechanical Drawing Interpretations, Using of hand tools and maintenance of tools, Grinding with the use of Grinding Tools, Use of drilling tools and drilling /tempering of holes, Sharpening of tools, Shaping Tools and Lathe turning in a metal and Milling.
