Course Duration

  • 60 direct teaching session for full time students (Equivalent to 15 IME Credits or 840 National study hours as per SLQF)
  • 4 semesters for part time students (Equivalent to 15 IME Credits or 840 National Study Hours as per SLQF)
  • 15 IME Credits worth of supervised thesis writing, literature review and portfolio assignment (Equivalent to 840 National Study Hours as per SLQF)
  • Total course load work worth of 1680 National Study Hours at the diploma level

Course Description

  • A feature rich 30 Credit, International Class course designed to take participants to international professional standards
  • All classes are interactive or multimedia experiences
  • Weighted Grade Point Average (GPA) scores are used for assessments
  • Mid term theory & practical exam covering three core modules
  • A thesis will have to be submitted on a topic chosen by the student under the guidance of his or her mentor
  • A separate literature review and a presentation will have to be given on a topic chosen from a pool of topics
  • A portfolio of 15 images has to be submitted within two weeks of the final examination; a period of two weeks will be given to submit the defense of portfolio after the initial assessment
  • Final exam will have a theory and practical components
  • 85% attendance is required to sit for the exams

  • Part Time - Sunday 0800 - 1200 - Sinhala

Required Equipment

  • A DSLR or a Modern Mirrorless Camera or any other camera with manual controls for Aperture, Shutter & ISO
  • A laptop computer with Adobe Lightroom installed
  • An electronic flash unit or a strobe light with a triggering mechanism or a continuous light source
