MSc Business Analytics

The programme is designed for practicing industry professionals such as Business Analysts, Statisticians, Operational Managers, Data Engineers, IT managers and even Software Engineers who have an Honours degree in Business, Statistics, Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computing or related areas. The course is designed to equip students with an understanding of state-of-the-art methods and tools and how to apply these to solve any particular big data business problem. It will also help managers to select the right software tools for such a project. This will in turn benefit the local IT industry in Sri Lanka. At all stages of study, the course content is complemented by practical work intended not only to reinforce the learning process, but also to enhance the vocational relevance of the course of study. The syllabus content incorporates course modules intended to enhance the technical and professional skills required to manage and execute state-of-the-art Business Analytics systems.


Entry Requirements

  • Minimum entry requirements are a Degree in a discipline with significant IT, Business, Computing, Mathematics or Statistics content. In general, all potential applicants are subjected to an interview to discuss the level of qualification offered and the experience gained in an industrial background.
  • However, students without the above standard requirements may be accepted for the programme on a case-by-case basis.
