DipASIAN in speech and Drama [Elocution Teachers Diploma]

Course Contents

1. Performance (45 Marks)

The candidate will perform 3 pieces of which one must be from 1800’s or a specific theme. The pieces should cover the genre of Drama., Prose and Poetry

1. Teaching Presentation (25 Marks)

The candidate should do a practical lesson, which should last not more than 20 minutes. This should cover poetry or prose teaching for grade 1 to 3. The presentation should headlight:

•            Aims and objectives of the lesson
•            How the lesson would be introduced
•            Techniques use o teach the above work.

1. Discussion (20 Marks)

A discussion will be initiated by the examiner on the performance pieces and the techniques used in the teaching of prose and poetry. A discussion will be formulated on the chosen pieces and there authors and poets.

1. Sight Reading (10 Marks)

Read at sight a passage, poem or dialogue given by examiner fifteen minutes prior to examination.
