Fast track your career advancement

  • On completion of all the examinations (four levels) students will be designated as passed finalists.
  • After completing the practical experience requirement (PER), they will be awarded Associate Membership (ACMA) of the Institute.
  • Fellow Membership (FCMA) of the Institute shall be obtained with further work experience and participation in professional development activities.
  • CMA Diploma in Accounting and Business Management certificate holders, with work experience, shall apply for the Certified Accounting & Business Manager (CABM) designation.

  • Generous exemptions granted for ACCA and CPA Australia programmes.

  • Direct entry to the MSc (Accounting and Finance) and MBA programmes at the University of the West of England, Bristol (UK) for passed finalists.
  • CMA Diploma in Accounting and Business Management certificate holders with 2 years’ industry experience and Assignment shall receive the CMA Diploma in Accounting and Business Management (DABM), equivalent to TVEC NVQ level 6.  

 

Flexibility

  • Conduct of the certificate and operational level study courses and examinations in all three (Sinhala, Tamil, English) languages.
  • Conduct of examinations several times each year.

  • Multiple leaning possibilities are available including the Learning Management System (LMS); on-line revision programmes; study texts; and accredited study centres (on-line / physical) allowing students to manage work, study, and personal commitments.

A dedicated Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme for CMA Members

  • CMA encourages lifelong learning through CPD programme which keeps members updated with the latest global knowledge, trends and practices through conduct of talks, seminars, workshops and training sessions.


Who can apply?

There are three routes available for enrolment in the programme;


Main entry route - Possess one of the following:

•       Three passes at the GCE (Advanced Level) examination (Sri Lanka/ London/ Cambridge/ India), along with a pass in the English Language and Mathematics at the GCE (Ordinary Level) examination or an equivalent qualification.

•       The Certified Accounting Technologist (CAT) qualification.

•       Successful completion of Level/ Stage 1of CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, or CIMA (UK).

•       Successful completion of AAT Level II.

•       Candidates who have passed any examination listed under the CMA Exemption Policy are also eligible to register.

  • These eligible candidates will receive exemptions; for example, undergraduate students who have completed their second year will receive up to 14 subject exemptions. AAT passed finalists will receive up to 8 subject exemptions. For more details, please check the CMA Exemption policy listed on the CMA website.


 

Mature entry route:

Those over 18 years of age with a minimum of 2 years work experience in accounting, and employer support to study may apply.
