The learning outcomes of the programme are:

• Understand the Fundamentals of ICT and acquire the basic skills in the use of a Personal Computer in a network environment
• Understand the basic concepts and processing of accounts data
• Use MS Word for basic word processing and MS Excel for basic spread sheet applications
• Compare and contrast the features of five accounting packages –SAGE Simply Accounting, Quick Books, MYOB, SAGE 50, and Tally
• Use a Personal Computer for accounting and functional areas in a business organisation such as – create chart of accounts, inventory management, sales and purchasing, income and expenditure recording, create and maintain ledger accounts, generate reports in accounting and related functional areas
