Course Overview

The PGDip (Mgmt) programme is based on a needs assessment of the comprehensive knowledge requirements of professionals who aspire to pursue postgraduate studies. It has been observed that currently there is a significant demand for Postgraduate programmes offered by the PIM. Since the entry criteria for the flagship PIM MBA are relatively stringent and rightly so, there is a segment of prospective students who do not have adequate entry qualifications to become eligible to follow the PIM MBA. The PIM needs to diversify its portfolio and cater to a wider segment of society in postgraduate education. The PGDip (Mgmt) will open a segment of the society currently not attracted to the PIM as well as be a feeder for the PIM MBA.

Postgraduate Diploma in Management Learning Goals

Qualification holders of PGDip (Mgmt) should be able to

1. Demonstrate a clear understanding of theoretical knowledge in management
2. Display critical awareness of current issues in management
3. Apply techniques relevant to management
4. Able to deal with complex issues in management systematically and creatively, make sound judgments and communicate decisions clearly to others.
5. Demonstrate self-direction and originality in tackling and solving management problems and be able to professionally plan and implement tasks independently.
