Master of Development Economics (MDE)

Entry Requirement

1. First-class or Second-class honours in the special degree in Economics or a related field from a recognised university in Sri Lanka or equivalent qualification recognised by the Eastern University, Sri Lanka.or
2. First class or Second class in the General Degree with Economics or related subject as a major subject, from a recognized University in Sri Lanka or equivalent qualification recognised by the Eastern University and one year of work experience in a related field. or
3. A Degree with Economics as a major subject, from a recognised university in Sri Lanka or equivalent qualification recognised by the Eastern University, Sri Lanka and two years of work experience in a related field. or
4. Postgraduate Diploma in Economics or a related field from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Eastern University, Sri Lanka. or
5. A professional qualification that will be recognised on a case basis, by the Eastern University, Sri Lanka on the recommendation of the Board of Study (Economics), Faculty of Graduate Studies as equivalent to the qualifications stipulated above.

Course Fee: LKR. 231,000.00 (Three instalments)

Selection Procedures:

Eligible applicants will be required to sit for a written examination and attend an interview. The written examination will evaluate the knowledge of micro, macroeconomics, maths and statistics of the candidates. The selection will be made based on the performance in the examination and interview.
